Principal

Brent Courter joined Smith-Goth Engineers in 2002 as a project engineer after receiving a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University (Southfield, MI).  He became a co-owner and principal in 2013.  During his 12-year career Brent has gained valuable experience in all aspects of electrical design and commercial construction.  He has become a key participant in the production of construction documents, quality control and construction administration. Brent now serves as the principal engineer on many projects and remains involved as the lead electrical designer on numerous others.  Brent has designed electrical systems and lighting for numerous types of construction including educational facilities, medical facilities, retail centers, office buildings, places of worship, industrial facilities and athletic fields. Brent specializes in solutions related to electrical distribution, emergency power systems, energy-efficient lighting and controls and exterior lighting.
