Springfield Regional Police & Fire Training Center

Springfield Regional Police & Fire Training Center

This project consisted of approximately 25,000 square feet of new construction and 4,400 square feet of renovation.  The facility is used by the Springfield Police Department and the Springfield Fire Department for training.  It consists of multiple classrooms, offices and a situational training room that can be used to simulate different audiovisual settings and effects.  The HVAC system includes energy efficient features such as a building exhaust heat recovery system and high-efficiency condensing boilers.  The plumbing fixtures are efficient “low-flow” fixtures.  Energy efficient light fixtures and automatic controls were used throughout the building.  The entire 25,000 square foot addition is backed up by an emergency generator.  This facility has been reviewed by the USGBC and awarded LEED Gold certification.  The project was completed in the summer of 2012.
